In Southern Manitoba, just a short distance from Cartwright, Manitoba, lies Eagle's Eye Retreat, a beautiful bed & breakfast, perfect for individuals, couples, or smaller corporate, hunting or spiritual groups. It supports a meeting room, complete with a small kitchenette, and main meals are available upon request. Nestled in the hills of the Badger Creek, it is central to several golf courses, lakes, and attractions to visit during your stay.
You wonder, as wild turkeys swagger across the rolling, tree-lined road before you, if this place is miles ahead, yet suddenly it appears just below you as you top yet another, and the last hill.
The beautiful, multi-storied home, its top story all that is visible, seems to magically grow from the hill, surrounded by a spacious yard with a varying landscape. Boulders, rocks, wood chips and white rock subtly mix in with grass, flower beds, the home, its wooden decks and the parking area. The air is full of the peaceful sounds of Mother Nature.
Inside, antiques are mixed amongst the modern furniture, each with a story to tell. Dark wood blends with the home's colouring to produce a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which you instantly feel at home.
No matter the season, the view from every room is stunning. The Badger Creek runs below where in summer turtles and snapping turtles sun themselves on the rocks, wary of a family of bald eagles high above. A wide path, bordered by trees, prairie grass, wildflowers and wild fruit, leads to the creek and, if you're up for it, you can continue along the manicured meadow path until you're across from the historic Bison Jump (circa 800 B.C.). The area is a photographer's dream, full of flora and fauna, complete with trails which can be hiked, ATV'd, tobogganed, snow-mobiled or snow-shoed.
Indoors, you can stay in touch with the world in front of the 54" TV or via the Internet, read, meditate, or explore your creativity if you scrapbook, write, sketch or paint. Perhaps you wish to learn something new in an environment of peace and quiet. This is the place.
While the bathroom is shared, the comfortable bedrooms provide plenty of privacy. There's access to a private deck, with its own prespective of the incredible view. There's a treadmill, elliptical, and on the lowest storey lies the home of a future exercise room.
